Ariel’s business model is based on in-licensing of clinic-ready drugs in acute care clinical indications that have hard, well-defined endpoints to enable Ariel to rapidly build shareholder value. The Company believes our licensed products are first-in-class, revolutionary therapeutic approaches with clinical indications that have significant market opportunity, patent protection and limited competition.
Ariel is advancing two drugs through clinical studies in the US and EU. Each of these drugs has therapeutic potential in multiple clinical indications including some orphan diseases since they share common therapeutic targets or mechanism-of-action. Where possible, Ariel will exhaustively develop a therapeutic platform to take advantage of our technical expertise, intellectual property position and market opportunities.
Each of our products has been significantly de-risked by our licensors through significant preclinical and early stage clinical development. Further, some of our products and clinical indications enjoy the benefit of significant external, non-dilutive, financial support and clinical resources. These “silent partners” enable Ariel to focus its internal resources in a more cost efficient manner to the advantage of our shareholders.
